During the past week I found a lot of clothes, accessories and bags on sale and when I say sale, I mean pretty cool prices. I would've loved to buy a lot of stuff but I stuck to those that I'm 100% sure I'm going to wear and which I absolutely love.

In my opinion the actresses that wore the "best dresses" were the ones that followed the saying "less is more". They wore simple but chic dresses and as for accessories they wore just a few pieces of jewelry, with diamonds of course, and sparkly clutches for a touch of glam. Wise choices. In the end everything lies in the attitude.

I love this yellow dress, that's a fact. :) I can't wait for a special occasion to wear it again. I'm also very happy that this year bright colours are a huge trend. Anyway lately I like fluorescent colours more than ever and I'm trying to wear as many colourful clothes and accessories as possible.

My dress is very similar to the one from Top Shop that Olivia Palermo wore at the Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011/2012 show in Paris on July 4.

When I saw this watch I instantly fell in love with it. It's simple, elegant and at the same time glamorous. I love the wide screen and the simple design. I always lived by the motto "less is more". The good thing is that it's easy to match this wrist watch with an outfit. I believe that a watch like this or similar to this one would go with a pair of jeans as well as with an elegant outfit - for special occasions or business meetings. I would love to wear it with jeans, a pair of high-heel shoes, a simple shirt and a blazer on top.

I know that a watch says a lot about the person who wears it but I'm not a person who wishes for fancy things, I would appreciate it if the watch was of good quality and I mean it should be made of stainless steel so that it would "live" longer but I couldn't care less if the watch would have diamonds, sapphires or other precious stones.

Christmas 2011

This year Christmas was a very nice and calm time of the year. I celebrated it with my family, I had a delightful dinner together with my boyfriend, my sister and her boyfriend and my parents. The food was delicious, as always, and besides that we had a lovely time together watching movies, listening to carols and simply having a nice chat.

Also, on December 16, me, my sister and her best friend went to see the Christmas play at a school just outside my town, in a village of foster kids. It's a modern village created especially for those kids, with German financial support and it pretty much has everything they need. I read a few of the letters they wrote to Santa and they were just asking to see their parents/families...that was heartbreaking. Other than that they are normal kids, extremely cute I may add, that wish for normal things such as toys - the large Teddy Bear was a trend, and of course sweets. Santa was very generous but that was mostly thanks to companies and random independent persons who wanted to contribute to making Christmas a better experience for these kids. We were involved as well and we were nothing but impressed by these wonderful kids. I was happy to see them, they were lovely and innocent and I hope I get to visit them again soon to see what they're doing.

How did you celebrate Christmas?

Autumn Mood (Finally back after a really long break.)

Hello my dear ones, I'm finally back on my lovely blog after a loooong break and I must admit I missed it. If you're wondering what happened? Life happened.

So many things have changed...I went through so much stress during my final exam session at the university (being a graduate now) and also while preparing my bachelor degree paper, but it's all over now and I'm really thankful.On a positive note, I've met someone special, amazing, lovely, with a wonderful heart and really handsome. He makes me really happy! We've just celebrated 6 wonderful months together and I'm sure that there are many more to come. :)

I'm also enjoying this wonderful autumn and that's why I want to share these beautiful pictures with you.

Finally I get to post something in here. Yay! I'm really sorry I haven't updated my blog in a long time but I've been really busy with university and everything...But this won't be an update-post, it will be a fashion-post. Today I bought a long blouse/sweater that I fell competely in love with, as soon as I saw it, even though I wasn't planning on doing any shopping. So...lately I've been having this obsession for really long & loose blouses/sweaters. I just love them! They are so chic and yet so comfortable. You can wear them with belts or just let them loose. And depending on what accessories and pieces of clothing you're wearing them with, you can either wear an elegant outfit or a casual but trendy outfit. The choice is yours. And here are some pics:

Trance Vibrations Events 11 & 25 September 2010

Recently I've been to these AMAZING "Trance Vibrations" shows in my town at Anpora Music Arena (a new 'club' in town). One took place on September 11 and the main guests were the Djs 4 Strings (from Holland) and tyDi (No.1 dj in Australia, about whom I didn't know very much at that time but who surprised me in a good way) and the Romanian trance djs 'Stefano b2b Juliano' and dARe. They rose above my expectations and they literally made my...night!!! The atmosphere was crazy: the music was loud and clear, the laser show was awesome, the djs were in a great mood and together with Mc The Watcher they really knew how to entertain the crowd and last but not least, the crowd was extremely energetic. We all jumped, danced and sang along all night. I have such great memories from that night! I never wanted it to end. :) At the end I had the chance to meet tyDi in person and let me tell you that he is a REALLY nice guy, so laidback and so cheerful!!! The dj 4 Strings was also very nice and as well as tyDi, he immediately agreed to take a picture with me.

On September 25 I just couldn't wait for the show to begin! One of my favorite djs was going to mix - Dash Berlin (from Holland)!!! He comes on 4th place in his country and 17th in the world. Dj dARe was the one who did the warm-up, then Dash Berlin came on stage at 12:30 AM till 2:30 AM and the closing set was mixed by dj Kris O'Neil from Denmark. This night was even more amazing!! The crowd was literally out of this world, all thanks to these great djs and the lovely songs they chose to play and mix. Most of us knew the lyrics of the songs and we all sang so loud that several times the music was stopped so that we could hear ourselves clearly singing along. That was such a great experience! I was also very happy to be there with my sister and many friends and I also recognized a LOT of people from the previous event. At the end we stood in line to get an autograph from Dash Berlin. There was a long line but after half of them were gone, the bodyguards were kind enough to let me and my sis' go in (hihi) and when we went in, the organisers were in such a great mood, so hyper, that they all 'hi5'-ed us haha and they gave us a card and a sticker with Dash Berlin :). He was kind enough to sign them and to take a picture at the suggestion of the organisers (who also took the picture for us). Those guys were just awesome!

I'm back ladies and gents! + my trip to Germany

This is a bit delayed but...I'm back on the blog and I'm ready to share some of the pics I've taken while I was on holiday in the southern area of Germany. :) First of all I must say it was AMAZING! The weather was great and I got to visit so many beautiful places (from which Neuburg an der Donau definitely stole my heart -first pic). The architecture is so pretty and it reminded me of the old times...when kings & queens were still living in castles and they were throwing balls and such things. It was quite a relaxing holiday and I enjoyed EVERY minute of it! Actually I loved it so much that I was sad when I had to leave...I would've never left Germany haha :) I stayed with some friends who have been living there for quite a while and they were SUCH sweethearts trying to make my stay a time to remember. I already miss them!!! I also went clubbing with some friends and I had the best time ever! I liked how all the clubs had several music-rooms so you could choose which ever you wanted to go in, depending on your music taste (usually there was one for rock, one for pop and one for electronic music) and you could switch the room any time you wanted. THAT is a GREAT idea! People there were so entertaining and so friendly, I really liked that. Too bad most of them can't speak any other languages, so the 'very common' English is out of the question in most of the cases but yeah...I managed with my little notion of German. ;) I hope I'll get to visit Germany again soon.

New earrings

So I bought some new earrings and I must admit that my favorite pair is the black one that I got from Avon. Surprisingly they have awesome accessories and I have quite a few necklaces and earrings from them. I didn't use to wear long earrings because I always thought they were heavy or they just didn't suit me, but lately I've changed my mind. I think that long earrings are usually very elegant so they look better with a dress, preferably a simple one in a dark colour. Then you don't have to wear many accessories. You could wear a ring or a bracelet because I think a necklace wouldn't really fit the picture.

This time I chose a casual look. As you can see, I love BLUE. Actually it's my favorite colour. :)

I love tight jeans and the darker the denim is, the better. Combined with simple black flats, they look great. Plaid shirts are very warm in the winter but the new version of the classical checkered shirt with short sleaves or no sleaves at all, are perfect in the summer. They are extremely lovely and everyone must have at least one in their wardrobe. They remind me of the western/country style but improved by the right accessories they look rather like an 'urban cowboy/girl' version.

As accessories I chose (again) a watch with a more masculine model (cause I like those better), a dark blue leather bag, silver & blue bangles (I love wearing as many bracelets as possible), an oversized silver ring with a big blue stone (because I also love oversized rings) and a studded belt for the punk/urban touch. The headband is not necessary. It depends on how many accessories you actually wear. Sometimes a headband might be too much.

Sorry for not being able to post anything for more than a week. I was on holiday and I didn't have time to write any posts while I was gone. But I promise you I'll make a new post tomorrow. :) I had a nice time even though the weather was kinda ugly (it was rainy or at least cloudy almost every day). I hope you're all having a great summer!! ^_^

Skulls & Purple (Polyvore)

This is one of my all time favorite outfits! First of all I LOVE loose T-shirts, they look cool and they are also very comfortable to wear. Again, I chose a pair of dark-blue jean shorts because they are a 'must' this summer. This pair of black flat sandals are really nice and I'm sure they are also very comfortable, if you're a person who walks a lot. Black is a classic so you can easily wear these sandals with clothes in all kinds of colours.

Skulls are also a huge trend this year and because I like it as well, I chose a pair of purple skull earrings by Tarina Tarantino, to match the purple loose T-shirt. I chose a silver bracelet with skulls because it matches the earrings but also because I think it's an interesting bracelet, not like the simple, classic ones who are a bit dull at times. Besides a silver bracelet, you can also wear a black & silver watch (and since I'm a huge fan of men's watches, I recommnd those :P).

I usually like long necklaces and for that reason I chose this Tiffany & co double-pendant necklace which woould look great over the T-shirt. Last but not least, I chose a black leather bag to complete the outfit.

You can wear this outfit during the day because it's pretty casual but you can also wear it in the evenings when you go out for dinner or a drink with your friends, because with the right accesories it can be quite chic.

That's it. I'm back to writing fashion posts. And I'm gonna keep on writing in English (I won't alternate posts in English and Romanian anymore, like I said I would) because I like it better this way. :)

I decided to post an outfit every few days and write a few words about the choices I've made. I will post outfits which I created already or will create on www.polyvore.com (because you can embed on your blog the outfits you create), which btw is an AWESOME site where you can explore your fashion talent. :)

For today I chose a pink outfit. As I said before ruffles are one of the biggest trends this year. Though I'm not a fan of the colour pink, I chose it because I think it's a fresh colour and I believe it looks really pretty in combination with the blue denim shorts. Denim shorts never go out of style so wear them as often as you can. I also love dorky glasses (or vintage glasses, call them as you wish) They are so lovely. For this outfit I chose some golden accessories, a pair of beige & brown pumps as well as a beige medium-sized bag to tone down the pink colour. At the end you can see the brands & prices of the objects used for the outfit, but to be honest it doesn't matter that much since I usually choose what I think looks nice and I don't really take into consideration the prices they have. ;)

Gosh I've been so busy these days that I didn't realise it's my blog's birthday...How did time pass by so quickly?! I mean, this time last year I was just starting my blog, my own little space where I could write about what I like, what I feel and all kinds of random stuff. I know this blog was off to a slow start because I didn't make it public on my personal accounts (twitter, facebook etc) but there's still time for it to grow. I have some things in mind. :)

So far there have been 54 posts and almost 1000 page views. This second year I'm planning on raising the stakes. :D

Challenge yourself

Talking about challenges...I think that all of us should do things that we believe are challenging. Why should we always stay in our comfort zone and live in a warm and fuzzy world. I think that's plain boring. I'm not saying you should push yourself too far because some things you wish too accomplish might be too much for you at times. You can start with small challenges and then while you grow up and you accomplish them one by one, you can 'upgrade' yourself and go even further. I learned on my own that wishing for something is not going to help me in any way. Just wishing is not enough, you have to go for it. Give it a try and it might work. Just in case it doesn't go well from the beginning, it doesn't mean you can't accomplish that thing. That's the challanging part. That's when you see how ambitious you are, that's when you see if you accept your failure or you want to be a winner. Challenges make you stronger, they raise your self-esteem and they make you happier.

In my situation I can tell you that I started with the idea that I don't ever want to be tutored outside the classes, unlike the other kids. So while their parents were spending a lot of money for those tutoring classes, I was studying by myself. That's how I got into the highschool I wanted to. Then it's just another episode of hystory reapeating because when I finished highscool I refused to get tutored again (I wanted to invest the money for tutoring in something else) so I've been studying by myself for the final exams . Again, I got into the Univeristy I wanted to. But the thing is that I never chose to go to an 'easy' school. I always wanted a challange so I chose schools where I knew that teachers are good and expectations are high. Only if I know that I have to work hard to achieve something I feel accomplished. Things that are too easy to get don't catch my interest. In most of the situations I don't take the easy way out.

So why not challenge yourself a little? Learn how to swim, climb a mountain, travel to certain places, read more books, learn how to use Photoshop, learn how to mix music, take part in contests, become a member of an organization etc. If you have a hobby (sing, dance, perform all kinds of stuff, doing sports etc), then maybe you should give it a try. You might be very good at it, even if you've never thought about it. Or you could do something out of the ordinary like bungee-jumping, flying, rafting or any other crazy thing. Feel the adrenaline rush. It might be the best thing you've ever done (for yourself).

I'm sure you've seen it so many times before. It never goes out of style....It only gets better each year....Yes, you know I'm talking about the 'marine style'. It's a classic but we love it, don't we? ;) Its colours (red, navy blue, white) make a great combination. Whenever I see someone wearing marine style clothes I think of summer. Add some accessories like necklaces and bracelets with anchor, starfish, seahorse pendants and you will definitely 'rock the boat'.

I haven't posted any fashion posts lately so I decided that it was about time to make one. :)
This summer ruffle (or layered) skirts & dresses are a must have for all fashionistas. I think they look pretty cute and if they have a floral print it's even better because that's definitely one of this summer's trends. They are VERY feminine, sexy and cute at the same time and of course very comfortable. They are also very easy to accessorize, some simple pumps or sandals and a long necklace and/or some bangles (bracelets) are enough to create an amazing a cool summer look.

Summer is here!

Thankfully summer is finally here! :-)

It's been a looooong Spring but it was a deffective/abnormal season taking into consideration the fact that it was SO cold and rainy for days and days. But if I recall, it's been a week now since it's been sunny and warm outside and not a single drop of rain. Yay! I'm so glad! People embrace the sun and well...your shorts, tops, dresses and flip-flops!

Summer wordrobe here I come!

Though I shouldn't be quite happy about this heat...since I have 3 more exams to take (I'm in in the middle of the exam session right now) and it's making me a bit sleepy and lazy...it pretty much takes my energy away :)) but I hang in there, what else can I do? I do live solely on 'refreshments' such as cold water and ice cream but I can't complain about that since I'm a huge ice cream fan.

Either way I can't help but think of a beach walk, feeling the soft sand on my toes...or resting on the porch of a beautiful mountain resort, enjoying the fresh air and the breathtaking view. Oh how I wish I could do that right now but then reality breaks in and I find myself sitting at the desk, in my orange room, writing papers and studying for exams. Broken dreams...

What are you guys doing these days and what are your plans for the summer?

PS: from now on I will start writing posts in Romanian and I will be alternating them with English ones :)

Tall or short?

...What's the deal with people giving so much importance to height? I'm really curious. Do people point how short/tall you are because of a personal complexe or because they like to "make fun" of others? I don't know. I guess it depends on the situation...

I'm a pretty tall person (1.75 cm if you were curious) and I was the 3rd tallest person in my class, during highschool (one guy was around 1.85 cm and one girl was 1.80 cm). I remember once telling that girl (jokingly, obviously) that I was glad I wasn't so tall...and let me tell you, it didn't go well. It turned out that that girl was quite sensitive (more than I imagined) and she started asking me what was my point and then she started crying...I felt so guilty afterwards and I realized my mistake. Ever since, I don't make any remarks about people's height. I've learned my lesson. I hope you will do the same.

Even though my sister is almost 4 years older, she's a few cm shorter than me. I believe I inherited the height gene from my dad. Well....he's almost 1.90 and he's very thin as well. :P

I often get remarks where people like to point out the fact that I'm so tall (though I think I have a normal height) and they either ask why I didn't do modelling or if I play basketball (in the best cases) but they also point out that I'm going to have a problem in finding a tall partner (hmm...guys really tend to get shorter nowadays, don't they?) or that I might look weird among my shorter friends. My answer is: SO WHAT? Does height matter that much? I don't think so. My best friend is so much shorter than me...I've always had shorter friends. :)) That didn't make them less interesting or fun to hang out with. Actually I have only one tall friend hahaha and even though she's almost 1.80 cm, she enjoys wearing high heels. I admire that. I don't wear 'heels. I got used to wearing flats. I do think I'm tall enough like this. But I do wear them on special occasions.

The thing is, I've learned to not make any jokes or remarks about people's height because it might make them feel uncomfortable or it might offend them. People are just as awesome either way: tall or short. :)

Exams & new photo editing skills...

Exams are right around the corner so I won't be able to post much during the upcoming month ...or if I will (I know I won't able to help it), they will consist in a lot of pictures and videos.

I have an exam on Monday, a test on Tuesday and another test on Wednesday aaaaand after that other 4 exams between June 1o and June 28...pretty hectic right? But I'm not complaining. I like what I'm studying and I don't want to cheat on exams, I try my best to focus and remember what I study because I find it interesting and useful. :) Everyone should do the same. Let's be fair and let's work hard to achieve what we want! Let's set a good example, shall we? That will make you feel acomplished.

Other than that...

I sometimes edit some of my pictures on photobucket.com but I'm talking about little improvements. Nothing huge. I like to keep it real.

But today I found some interesting instructions about editing which I wish to share with you:

- upload a picture on www.photobucket.com

- click the "Edit" link on the photo you want to edit

- select the "Effects" tab and click the "Greyscale"button to make your photo black-and-white

- to add a splash of colour click the "Advanced Options" button, and select "Painted Region from the dropdown menu

- you will see a large black dot on your photo, drag that around the photo (while pressing it) to select the areas that you want to be black-and-white. The part you don't highlight will be in colour.

- you can adjust the size of the black dot anytime so that you can use it more easily on your picture

Thursday night I was browsing the internet for interesting stuff to read and I randomly came accross this post about a special event that was about to take place in my town the next day. Some highschool students were going to take part in a synchronized dance, an event which was going to take place in several European cities at the same time and this dance was going to be considered the biggest synchronized dance in the world (trying to break the previous record of 27.000 dancers registered in 2008). At that time I thought about going to watch the event but I wasn't sure. Next morning I didn't hear my alarm so I got up pretty late and I woke my sister up but she was to sleepy to get up and suddenly I decided to go alone, even if it was a bit late. So I rushed out of bed, dressed up, grabbed the camera and ran out the door without eating lunch. :)) My parents were like "Where is she going like that?". I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to explain so I let my sister do the talking. I ran downtown as fast as I could but the dance had already started...actually it was over as soon as I got there (it lasted only 7 minutes). But I wasn't sad because I had enough time to take a few pics while the kids were dancing together on some folclore songs just for the fun of it. :) A lot of people gathered to watch these students dancing. I was impressed! Anyway they looked really nice, they all had white & violet shirts (representative colours for my town) that alternated, so looking at the bigger picture it was a beautiful event. You'll see what I mean once you look at the pics. In conclusion 866 students joind the synchronized dance in Timisoara. There were 54 other cities from Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovakia, Bulgaria which had 'joined' the dance for the purpose of breaking the previous record. I hope the official results will be as good as everyone has hoped for! :)

When you're being misunderstood...

Do you sometimes get the feeling that you are misunderstood? Yes? No? Well...I do. Looking back on my teenage years I can say that I never really was understood, maybe one or two people were able to 'read' my actions, my thoughts, my words but looking at the bigger picture that is almost insignificant. On the other hand I always thought that I was easy to read and to understand. I guess I was wrong.

Do you ever feel that you're saying one thing and people understand something else or even the opposite?

It happened to me lately...several times and it made me think about it...what makes people misunderstand our words/actions? Why do they tend to believe the worst about what we're saying/doing?

Do you ever feel that people start doubting you even after many years of friendship/acquintance because they believe what they want to believe about you?

They think about what is worse and they don't even consider the background of your relationship anymore. They believe what they want because it's easier for them to see someone elses faults rather then their own. I guess they think it's easier that way...so wrong...some get offended when it's not even the case :(

Do you ever feel that you are misunderstood because people don't try to reach your heart anymore?

I guess it's easy for them to judge what they see rather than looking for answers.

Do you ever feel that people don't want to admit they're wrong when they misunderstand you, because they are afraid to do it?

They will never admit they were wrong. People have such big egos. Sometimes they just can't get over themselves...

Do you ever feel that people blame you for being misunderstood?

Yes they often do that. They don't care what made them misunderstand you, you are to blame for it, they have no fault in this...Mhm...

Do you ever feel that the people who surround you became so superficial that they prefer to leave you behind when they sense the slightest change of mood between you and them?

Been there, done that. What can I say, people move on to happier 'things' rather than trying to fix what's broken or trying to figure out the problem.

Movie: 'Dear John'

Yesterday I watched the movie 'Dear John' and I loved it.

How can I not like the movie when it's made after a book written by the same author who wrote 'The Notebook' - Nicholas Sparks.

Well that is maybe because I'm a sucker for romantic movies (be they comedies/dramas) but I also like the actors: Savannah (played by Amanda Seyfried - from 'Mean Girls' and 'Mamma Mia') and Tyree (played by Channing Tatum - from 'Step Up').

I won't write my own review this time but I will post the trailer and you can decide on your own if you want to watch it. Either way, I recommend this movie. :)

Channing Tatum, especially, makes a good impression, I really like his character's personality and the way he portrays it and let's be honest, he's looking hot. :)

New TV series: Life Unexpected

Fifteen year-old Lux has spent her life going from foster family to foster family. She has finally decided to become an emancipated minor. During her journey through the legal maze, Lux finds her biological father, 30-something Nate "Baze" Bazile, who lives above a bar and is astonished to learn he has a daughter. Lux learns that her mother is Cate Cassidy, a star on local radio, along with her boyfriend, Ryan Thomas. A judge decides to grant temporary custody of Lux to Baze and Cate instead of emancipating her. (via ~IMDb)

As life takes them all on a new path, watch how they try to make-up for the mistakes they made in their past.

Cate Cassidy, now a star on local radio, got knocked up on "prom night" (15 years ago) by the highschool jock Nate Bazile (Baze), kid that she set up for adoption and never heard anything of after that. She never told Baze about having a kid. She's somewhat imature/childish and she's afraid of commitment.

Ryan (my favourite person from this series) - Cate's fiance, who hosts the famous K100 radio show together with her. He's a very kind and charming man and he'll stay by Cate's side during all the drama that messes up her nice & comfortable life when her daughter Lux appears.

Baze - the unaccomplished ex-highschool jock, who now lives with 2 highschool friends (one of whom was a highschool nerd) above a bar which they try to keep working for a living. His girlfriend leaves him when Lux (the daughter he never knew about) appears unexpectedly in his life. Even at his age he's not mature enough to call himself an adult.

Lux - the center of the story - now a very smart & pretty 15 year-old girl, whom Cate gave up at birth wishing she would have a better life, but who had an awful life in foster care and whom unfortunately never got adopted. Thanks to some amazing foster friends she decides to find her birth parents (Cate & Baze) and make them sign the emancipation papers so that she can move in with her friends and get on with her life, away from the horrible foster care. But things will take a different turn when she meets her parents...

Bug - Lux's boyfriend, also a foster kid; they were always there for each other during all those crappy moments (he's one of the persons whom she wants to move in after emancipation)

Tash (Natasha) - Lux's best friend; they met in a foster house when they were little and became unseparable, they were like sisters. She's the other person with whom Lux wants to move in after her emancipation...but things change when Lux finds Cate & Baze...

Book review: "The Phantom of The Opera" - Gaston Leroux

As promissed, in this post I'm writing about "the Phantom of The Opera" which I finished reading a few days ago.

"A haunting tale of suspense and intrigue set in nineteenth-century Paris.

As Monsieurs Richard and Moncharmin prepare to take over as acting managers of the Opera House, they discover their predecessors have bequeathed them the 'Opera Ghost'. A separate memeorandum-book has been set aside for his various whims, including extravagant financial needs. Heedless of the numerous warnings to comply with these strange demands the managers shrug it all off as a practical joke taken too far. Then a sequence of eerie coincindences and tragic events follow, culminating in the suden disappearence of the beautiful prima donna Christine Daaé in mid-performance.

Tortured by the pangs of unrequited love, the mysterious figure linving beneath the Opera House has been awaiting his chance to strike - and once he does, he is deadly..."

I really, trully enjoyed reading this book and I found it really entertaining. I've seen the movie as well and I think it's great but you cannot compare the book with the movie. The storyline is quite different in the book and much more complex and detailed. The Opera Ghost is a very interesting character and he is extremely smart which makes the story so captivating. The tricks 'he' plays on the opera people and the way he knows every little corner/door/room of the Opera House by heart amazes me. It's funny how he's believed to be the "bad guy" but I still can't see him like that because after all he has all the reasons to get revenge...I guess 'he' just doesn't like people or things getting in the way of his plans, for 'he' wishes to have what every man wishes: a normal life and wife who loves him, by his side. The final part of the book was the most interesting in my opinion because I really liked the description of the "Torture Chamber" created by the Opera Ghost where the "Rosy Hours of Mazenderan" used to take place....That must be the most creative thing ever!

All in all it is a great story and I honestly recommend it to you. :)

What I've been up to...

So I think it's about time for me to write a post where I update you in a way or another about what I've been up to lately...I know I've been posting a lot of pics and I still have many to post but today I feel like writing something.

Well...at the moment I'm not so good, I've caught a cold, a pretty bad one and it took me by surprise since I've been healthy and in a very good shape the entire winter (and it was a loooooong winter unfortunately) and now when spring is here, theoretically speaking - cause it's still cloudy and cold, I have to stay in bed and take pills and drink lots of tea...not fun!

I couldn't go to university the past 2 days as I was feeling quite sick and weak but from what I know, I didn't miss much so it's ok - I've missed the gym class yesterday haha, I don't regret that :).

I just hope I'll get well really soon because I'm not the type of person who can sit in bed and do nothing when she's sick. I always have to do something, I just have to move.

I also miss my friends/classmates from uni' and I must say that they were really sweet when they sent me messages saying that they hope I'm feeling better and that they're waiting for me to get back to school...aww! They also kept me updated with everything so all is good.

Other than that lately there have been some things which disappointed me and kept messing up my mind and that I'm still not sure of how to deal with but I'll wait and see how things turn...patience is a virtue right? I'm not in my best mood right now so I'm not going to get into this for a while...but if things don't change, I guess I won't have a choice but to take action.

At times like these I really miss my best friend Silvy. I really wish she was here right now...But still even though she's not here in person (here meaning in town), she's always there for me and I can't say how much I appreciate her for that. ♥ [BFFE]

Leaving aside my friends from my town, I really wish that my dear Supriya was here...but I know that right now she's really busy with school exams/art exams and assignments and all that. I really want to give her a shoutout and say CONGRATULATIONS DEAR FOR GETTING INTO LONDON COLLEGE OF FASHION!!! I'm so proud of you!!! You deserve it for being so talented and hardworking :) ♥

I also wish my lovely friend Annelore would be here. She's such a wonderful and fun person, she always makes me smile or laugh and I know she'll read this and I want to tell her that I really miss her!

And I also miss my friends Lauren and Jessica from Texas/USA, Domis from Sweden and Mea from Finland.

Who said fandoms aren't good?! I know these girls for 3 years now and we're still great friends even though we live in different countries.

OH...and I'm reading "The Phantom of The Opera" right now, I find it quite captivating and I promise to make a review of it as soon as I'm done.

In one of my next posts I'll also write about a new movie series which I started watching recently and I really like it...actually I love it! :)

PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHY - PART 1

These are some pictures I took last summer when I went on a loooong walk with my dad, from my grandma's place till we reached this other village - the place where she was born - which was 10 km away. I really enjoy walking long distances so I had a wonderful time, relaxing and having the BEST conversation ever with my dad. :) These are just some of the pictures I took that afternoon, I have a lot more, reason for which I will post them in different posts. Lately I started reading some of the English novels that I have in my personal book collection. All of them belong to the "Penguin Classics" collection, which in my opinion is the best one EVER!

The list is very long but I hope I will get to read at least half of it in the upcoming years :))

So...I started reading "The Great Gatsby" because several people recommended it to me and because it was named several times in the One Tree Hill series (where it was Luke's favourite book). The book isn't difficult to read and it's not very long so it only took me 2 days to finish it.

"This book is a perfect example of the fall of the American Dream in the 1920s."

It's the first book I've read where the action takes place in the jazz era.

I can only say that I enjoyed it. :)

It's always a pleasure for me to read quotes from 'One Tree Hill'...I don't need a special reason to read them because if you'll have a look at this site: oth's famous words/quotes you'll get hooked up, and you'll immediately figure out how amazing this show is....it's simplicity & at the same time complexity of showing all the sides of life is just...wow...but enough about the show. Here I chose a beautiful quote which I want to talk about because it goes with my mood right now and because it is meaningful and I think you should all take a second to think about these facts....maybe you'll relate to them...who knows...

"I guess it’s easier to see what we want, than to look for the truth. You think you know me but you don’t. And that means you don’t know what I can do. You see me as someone who’s popular and has all the answers. That’s not true. I may not always know what I’m doing but I’ll try make things better. This quote reminds me of another quote from OTH, when Peyton said to Lucas "First of all you don't know me. Second of all, you don't know me." That's how I feel right now. Surrounded by friends and all kinds of different people, every single day, and I can tell that neither of them know me. The real me. The 100% me. They know only sides of my personality that I let them see. In the end I don't know who's fault is it that this is happening but I guess me and my friends will have to share that fault. Starting from this point, yes, I think it is easier to see what we want, then to look for the truth. People easilly misjudge other people, which obviously leads to misunderstandings. It's like they have their minds, as well as their eyes covered with a rather thick veil that prevents them from seeing the truth, the real person who stands in front of them and calls them a friend.

Friends are there for each other. At least that's what it says in my books. Maybe my books have old stories but I still think they are true. As far as I know, friendship never goes out of fashion. But I guess that works only for REAL friendships, not the fake ones or "you use me-I use you" type, along with the "show-off" friendships. I guess we all have different types of friends, just as I do, I have friends who listen to the same music/watch the same movies as me, or who have the same hobbies as me but I also have friends who are completely different from me and like completely different things. Nevertheless they're still great friends. If it's one thing I've learned is that people with different personalities & different life goals CAN get along quite well. Trust me.

But what do you do when someone really close to you, who you thought understands you quite well and appreciates you for who you are, suddenly makes you see that you aren't as understood as you thought? Well...that's kinda sad. You suddenly realise that they would like to change you or that they aren't so pleased with who you are and it makes you feel like...like the stable ground was swept from under your feet and you don't know what to do. First of all you don't know me. Second of all, you don't know me. I guess no one ever knows us 100%. They know what we show or tell them but in the end they believe what they want. You think you know me but you don't. And that means you don’t know what I can do. That's true. A lot of people assume way to easily that they "know" us. Well think again. Do you? This bothers me because most of the times people assume that they know us and they bring that against us like : "I know you too well, you can't make it." or "I know you quite well, you won't do that." Or they simply think that they already know EVERYTHING about us and there's nothing left to discover so they don't try to look deeper anymore. People change. They find new hobbies, they like and appreciate new things all the time. Try to break the walls people built around themselves and get to know the real person, with an OPEN HEART and an OPEN MIND.

I may not always know what I’m doing but I’ll try make things better. Nobody is perfect, we all know that. We all make mistakes. I make mistakes. I also admit my mistakes if I know that I did something wrong. Some people think they "know" me and believe I can't make mistakes...well I hate to break it to you but the sun is not always shining on my side of the bed. I am wrong at times and I like to face the facts and solve the problem. But I hate it when people assume that I made mistakes on purpose. Nope, I didn't mean to hurt you and no, I didn't get a tingle in my toes, neither it made me giggle when I disappointed you. But they still assume the worst. Get over yourself and try to listen to that person and give her a chance. Everything will be ok.

My conclusion is that we need to be more UNDERSTANDING and to try and see behind appearences. Accept people as they are, don't assume anything because just like one of my university teachers said in class, assume means making an ass of you and me. :))

If you let me be myself, we can do great things together.

I know I haven't posted much lately but with all these exams going on right now, I didn't have a choice but to concentrate on studying. So in this post I decided to write about my favorite TV shows. I like quite a few series, such as Supernatural, One Tree Hill, Fringe, Gossip Girl, Melrose Place, The Vampire Diaries. Yes...I watch all of these series, I absolutely enjoy doing that and of course I'm up to date with every episode and everything regarding them. Each series is special in its own way, that's for sure and its also very different from the others...in a few words:

Supernatural is about 2 brothers- Sam & Dean Winchester- hunting supernatural creatures and trying to save the world from the Apocalypse.

One Tree Hill shows the life stories of a few teenagers from a small town - Haley James, Nathan Scott, Peyton Sawyer, Lucas Scott, Brooke Davis, Skills, Marvin 'Mouth' McFadden, Dan Scott, Karen Roe...- the dramas and the lessons they learn as life goes on.

Fringe: the FBI (Olivia Dunham, Broyles, Charlie, Astrid) teams up with a - formerly institutionalized - scientist, Walter Bishop who was performing experiments on the fringe of real science, and his son - Peter Bishop, an MIT dropout. Together they investigate weird crimes that are seemingly part of a larger pattern of events, and may be connected with a global company called 'Massive Dynamics'.

Tip: this show is a combination between CSI and X-Files, it's quite freaky but the actor's humour and sarcasm makes it a bit more fun.

Gossip Girl is about the Upper East Side teenage life - Serena van der Woodsen, Eric van der Woodesen, Blair Waldorf, Chuck Bass, Nate Archibald - the rich kids; Dan Humphrey, Jenny Humphrey, Vanessa Abrams - middle class kids.

Melrose Place shows the lives of some rich youngsters (Ella, Lauren, Riley, David, Jonah, Auggie, Violet) living in Hollywood and the dillemas/dramas that come up in their lives starting from a crime which takes place in the building they live in.

The Vampire Diaries is about 2 vampire brothers - Damon & Stephen Salvatore - who used to love the same girl -Katherine - a long time ago and who nowadays find a girl who looks just like her - Elena. While Damon causes a lot of damage in his pursuit of reviving Katherine, Stephen tries to protect Elena and her beloved ones from dangers.

Gilmore Girls: Lorelai Gilmore, 32, has a close relationship with her daughter Rory, that they are often mistaken for sisters. Between Lorelai's relationship with her parents, Rory's new prep school, and both of their romantic entanglements, there's plenty of drama to go around. (via IMDb)

The O.C. (Orange County): Ensemble drama revolving around the young adult community of the Orange County, California, area. Ryan, a street-smart teen winds up in the midst of the high-class society of Newport Beach, when he is adopted by the stern but compassionate Sandford "Sandy" Cohen, a lawyer who has represented Ryan in the past for his misdeeds, and his wife Kirsten. Ryan starts getting along very well with his stepbrother, Seth, but their lives get more complicated when they fall in love with two rich best friends: Marisa and Summer.

It's late...It's time to get some sleep...or more like, it's about time I get some sleep.

I admit that this is a problem I'll have to deal with sooner or later: my lack of sleep.

I know that with all these exams right I have little time to study so I try to take advantage of every second to revise for them...but this kind of behavior is just one of the reasons that made me become an insomniac.

Add to that watching movies/tv series almost every night with my sister or friends.

Not enough?! Then add an addiction to reading books online and blogs and all kinds of stuff...

Still not enough?!

I also used to stay up late to talk to my online/foreign friends. I wouldn't miss a chance to talk to my lovelies. Now we don't chat as often as before since everyone is busy with school or jobs but instead we text message whenever we can or we write emails.

Even so, I'm still an insomniac...

But the cherry on top is my sister's job...I used to be really pissed of because of her job but I'm not anymore. So I'm going to tell you how things were when she started working (btw she works from home, online): her "shift" was between 7 PM and 3 AM and she USED to work on the computer which had and still has a VERY NOISY keyboard (I couldn't stand it before but now I'm kinda imune to the sound) but thankfully she's working on her laptop now. As we were sharing the same room, which we still share even now, she had to keep the light on so she could see what she was tiping...so yeah noise + light = big annoyance while I was trying to get some sleep so that I could be fresh for school the next day. Moreoever she received this desk phone, from the company she was working for and when it rang it was so noisy and so loud that I believe it was waking up all the neighbors haha though nobody complained so far. So since my sister was working for an American company she had to work according to their morning shift (9 AM-5 PM in USA, 7 PM - 3 AM here) so the phone was ringing randomply in the middle of the night. :(( At first it was really annoying but then I decided to stay up till she finished her shift, trying to read a book or something, so that we would both get to sleep at the same time and only then I could rest properly.

Ever since, my sleeping schedule was f***ed up. :(

Those are pretty much all the reasons that led to my lack of sleep...but now since I'm already used to being completely awake at 3 AM I just loooove to stay online at that late hour and do whatever...so bye-bye sleep :))

The thing is that during holidays it's ok since I can sleep in for as long as I want and I can wake up in the evening if I want to, but during school time it's not ok, it's definitely going to damage my health if I don't put an end to it. A bad example would be me a few days ago studying for an exam till (almost) 4 AM and then waking up at 6:20 AM to go take that exam....NOT GOOD!

I'm completely aware of it so I'm going to try my hardest to "reset" my sleeping schedule and get some "beauty sleep" from now on. :D

I know that Youtube has a lot of talented users but in this post I want to show you guys a few singers whom I've discovered lately and whom I admire for their great vocal skills. I'm sure that there are a lot more to be discovered but so far these are the ones that caught my attention.

Last night I was watching some random videos on youtube when I came across this video of some girls called Blyss who managed to make this amazing cover of Destiny's Child song Emotions! That's one amazing cover! These girls are extremely talented and I trully hope that they get something out of it someday :

Then there are these 2 girls called Rin on the Rox who I've been listening to for a while now. They have amazing voices and they complete each other so well! Their covers are really good. This time I'm not going to post a cover but I'm going to post one song (which sounds SOOOO good in my opinion) which they produced with someone working in the music industry:

J'Lostein is also an amazing girl with an amazing voice! She has an angelic voice to be honest! When she sings her voice sounds so nice, so serene and soothing. You can feel the warmth and kindness in her voice. Ignore her crazy style if it "bothers" you or anything...just listen to her and you'll see what I mean. :)

Hana Pestle is also one of the singers I've discovered on youtube. She has a very clear, strong but at the same time soothing voice. I know she already performs on stages but I really hope she'll become famous someday! She deserves it!

My New Year's resolution & wishes...

Since tomorrow morning I'm leaving town to celebrate New Year's with my friends, in the mountains, I wrote this post today to wish you all HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! May you all have a wonderful time and party till the sun comes up with your loved ones :D Let's hope for a better year, lots of great moments and lots of FUUUN!

2009 was an interesting year, of course it had ups and downs but all in all it was a great life lesson and I experienced a lot of new things.

I'm going to mention some of the good things that happened:

I met wonderful people who soon became good friends ;)

I made some great friends at university;

I turned a beautiful age (20) and I got to spend that day with the persons I care about the most;

also on the night of my bday I also partyed with PARTYdul KissFM (Olix & Dan Fintescu) @ Club Vanilla as I wished;

I got to take part in local fashion show :X it was a great experience;

I passed ALL my exams with quite good grades :X;

I went with my friends to Herculane in the summer and it was a blast;

and I have many other good memories...

Here I go writing some of my personal wishes and what I wish to accopmplish in 2010:

*I hope I will pass this year's exams with no problem;

*I hope I will get to party/go clubbing more often than this year;

*I hope I get to see my best friend Silvy after more than 4 years since she moved to Australia :X

*I hope I get to go out of the country, maybe go to Greece in the summer (since I've never been to other countries :P)

*I hope I get to go to Amsterdam :X my favorite city and visit my dearest friend Annelore <3

*I hope I will get to meet my online friends :D

First of all I want to wish you all MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This is the first Christmas I get to "spend" on my blog :)) It's interesting and it's nice.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Christmas are these cartoons called "Noel" which I saw almost every year on TV, about an ornament named that way which was alway saying "My name is Noel, and I have a happiness". These cartoons are so cute and I think we should all "have a happiness".

My home is ready for Christmas: decorations - check, tree - check, holiday food - check, carols playing in the background - check. I think that's all I need for the moment, to spend a nice Christmas with my family. I only wish that there was still some snow on the ground...but at least I got to enjoy the snow before Christmas. :) I guess we can't have anything we wish for, we just have to be patient and wishes will come true eventually...one at a time.

Even though this Christmas I didn't get so much in the spirit of this holiday still I was happy to receive this little 6 year-old boy dressed up as Santa, who came to my place to sing a carol....he was so innocent, so natural and so cute. I appreciated the fact that he did his best and I remembered how I used to do the same thing as him, every single year...up to this one, when I didn't go caroling anymore.

This time I didn't make a Christmas wishlist but one of these days I'm going to post my list of wishes for the new year and my new year's resolutions.

This year we decided to decorate the tree with violet & golden decorations.
